Biography:

Delores Kannas RN MSN MHA, is an experienced project manager, clinical research nurse and critical care nurse. Ms. Kannas has primarily worked in academic medical centers in San Francisco, Minneapolis, and Seattle. She is a Clinical Research Nurse in the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. Previously from March 2019 through August 2020, Ms. Kannas worked as the Clinical Research Nurse & Patient Navigator at the End Brain Cancer Initiative (EBCI). The End Brain Cancer Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the existing gap to advanced treatment and clinical trial participation and to providing HOPE to brain tumor patients and their families nationally. From April 2017 to July 2018, she worked as the Clinical Nurse Compliance Specialist at Philips Healthcare. Ms. Kannas worked as the Trauma Research Project Manager at the University of Washington (UW) Clinical Trials Center, Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium (ROC) for 7 years coordinating multi-center clinical trials initiated in the prehospital setting with traumatically injured patients at 20 trauma centers throughout the United States and Canada. Ms. Kannas has co-authored several peer reviewed research articles. Prior to her position at the UW Clinical Trials Center, she practiced for 20 years in the Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle WA, the only Level One Trauma Center in the 5-state area of Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho (WAMI). Preceding Harborview, Ms. Kannas practiced as a critical care nurse and nurse manager while working in several academic medical centers. She obtained a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of California San Francisco in 1978 and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Washington in 2009.
