Dr. Tomoko Kawaguchi Akitsu boasts a rich and diverse academic and professional background, culminating in her current role as Associate Senior Researcher at the Earth Observation Research Center (EORC) within the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). With a tenure that spans over two decades, she has garnered extensive experience and expertise in various domains. Beginning her journey as a part-time staff member at the Graduate School of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba, she gradually ascended through different roles, including teaching assistant and researcher, showcasing her commitment to academic excellence and research endeavors. Notably, her contributions extend beyond academia, as evidenced by her roles at esteemed institutions such as the National Institute for Environmental Studies and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology.
