Biography:

Aykutoglu Gurkan is affiliated with Bingöl University in Turkey. He completed his undergraduate studies in Molecular Biology and Genetics at Boğaziçi University. He then pursued a master's degree in biology from Bingöl University, followed by a PhD in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Atatürk University. As a researcher in the Bingöl University BAP Project, he investigated the effects of melatonin and alpha-tocopherol on human umbilical cord vein endothelial cells stressed by hyperhomocysteinemia. Additionally, he completed another Bingöl University BAP Project, which focused on determining the physicochemical, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties of different extracts obtained from the leaves and roots of the Eremurus spectabilis plant. This project also evaluated the anticancer, apoptotic, and cytotoxic effects of these extracts on human Caco-2 and PC3 cancer cell lines.
